The Future of National Health Insurance: A Panel Discussion With Alice Rivlin and Stuart Butler
Forest Hills Connection and the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law will host Van Ness residents, Alice Rivlin and Stuart Butler, both senior fellows in economic studies and health policy at the Brookings Institution, for a talk about the future of national health insurance.
Stuart Butler and Alice Rivlin.
Butler, who was formerly at the Heritage Foundation and an architect of many market-based proposals, and Rivlin, a former Federal Reserve vice-chair and the founding director of the Congressional Budget Office, bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the challenge of understanding the changing face of health care in our country. They will bring to the discussion the most up to date research on what has worked and what hasn’t with the Affordable Care Act and what future legislative action portends.
Each brings different perspectives to what is sure to be a lively discussion, moderated by Julia Baller, a health researcher focusing on Medicaid at Mathematica Policy Research, with the goal of deepening our knowledge about this important national policy.
