Nicole Saphos Nicole Saphos is a bassist, singer and composer based in Washington, DC who, like a lot of younger musicians, is willing to mix rock influences into her music as significantly as straight-ahead jazz. Nicole has performed with Terell Stafford, Joanna Pascale, The Cab Calloway Orchestra, Sharon Clark, Chuck Redd, and Paul Carr. She has been featured in the Washington City Paper, and earned the Exceptional Bass Soloist Award from the Essentially Ellington Competition in 2008.
Last Saturday, visitors to the Van Ness Farmers Market were treated to some fun Ethiopian dancing by Thomas Young. Did you know that there are more performances and demonstrations coming up? Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 22 from 11am-1pm when we will be joined by Chef and author Jonathan Bardzik Jonathan Bardzik. Jonathan will be demonstrating ways to use some of the product from the Market in your cooking. Hope to see you there.
