INAUGURAL BARKS AND BREWS FESTIVAL ON SEPTEMBER 17
Enjoy dozens of craft beers, giveaways for your dog, live music, and local food trucks. The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17 in the Calvert Woodley parking lot from 5pm to 8pm. Part of the proceeds will be donated to PAL- People Animals Love.
HAWAII AT THE VAN NESS FARMERS MARKET
Join us on August 26 from 11am to 1pm at the Van Ness Farmers Market for music by Moe Nelson and Friends. This interactive, family fun performance will feature Hawaiian music with hula and ukulele.
PUBLIC ART AND WAYFINDING IN VAN NESS
The Van Ness Main Street Design Committee has selected three finalists for the Van Ness Public Art and Wayfinding project. The artists/artist teams are:
• Charles Bergen Studios, Washington, DC (Brookland)
• After Architecture, Partners Katie MacDonald and Kyle Schumann; Blacksburg, VA
• Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn, Artist Duo; Baltimore, MD
These artists will be coming to Van Ness to meet with our Van Ness community on Saturday, September 9th from 10am to Noon at WAMU which is located at 4401 Conn. Ave. The purpose of this gathering is to let the artists know your thoughts on ways to create a more vibrant and walkable Van Ness. There is no need to RSVP for this gathering.
