Sfoglina
Sfoglina shared with us that just today, they’ve brought back two of their furloughed staff to help with deliveries, and are now expanding their service – which is a bright bit of news! They’ve expanded their offerings and now in addition to their famous dishes, they now deliver alcohol (DC only), non-alcoholic beverages, pantry and other household items, and fresh products to customers in DC, MD, and VA.
They will soon be expanding their service to take orders over the phone, in addition to taking them online. They’re currently updating their website with all the details as they come together in the next day or so, including revised delivery fees. We’re glad to have them back! www.sfoglina.com/vanness

Bread Furst
If you haven’t been lately, in addition to their famous baked goodies, fresh bread, prepared foods and coffee, Bread Furst now offers a full line of grocery items! You’ll find milk, eggs and fresh produce from carrots to spring mix. Bread Furst is dedicated to supporting their local farmers and vendors any way they can. A full menu of their available items can be found on their website, which is updated several times a week.
They’re open daily from 8am till 4pm and now offer many of their items for delivery on UberEats. They wish to share with our readers how much they appreciate the support of the community throughout this process. www.breadfurst.com

Little Red Fox
Little Red Fox reopened this week with a creative new concept. We touched base with them to see how things are going…
Anything new on the menu? We’ve added two market boxes to our menu: a produce box and a carnivore box to help make shopping easier for our customers. In addition to our regular coffee and sandwich menus, we’re selling a large variety of grocery staples (butter, salt, eggs, milk) and both frozen and fresh prepared foods, like customer favorite Chicken Pozole.
Anything new in the works? Our head baker Lauren will be making flourless chocolate cakes for passover. We’ll have a link to preorder up soon!
When is the best time to order? Lunchtime can be fairly busy (11:30-1pm). To avoid other folks, morning and late afternoon are much quieter. Customers are instructed to call us when they arrive and they can choose to pickup either in the front, or the back of the shop. We suggest the back so you can stay in your car until we bring your food to the pickup station. Just keep your window down a little bit so you can hear your name called. 🙂 www.littleredfoxdc.com

Uptown Market
Uptown Market is the newest business on our main street, and the only business in Van Ness to have recently been awarded a Robust Retail Grant by the DSLBD. We enjoyed working with them during the grant process and are overjoyed they were selected!
Like so many other businesses in DC, Uptown Market has done a quick pivot and is now serving customers in a whole new way. You can now place orders online for family meals, grab and go meals and flatbreads as well as shop a selection of grocery items including fresh butcher cuts meats, fresh seafood, beer, local milk, eggs, grocery staples, and more. And, curbside pick up is now available! www.uptownmarketdc.com
