2026 EVENTS SCHEDULE
Every year, we work to create a diverse selection of events, ensuring there’s something for everyone in Van Ness. From meaningful volunteer opportunities, to fun community gatherings, to amazing pop-up markets featuring local artisans, we build community and highlight and amplify the vibrancy of Van Ness.
We are always adding new events to our lineup so check back often to see what’s new!
May 2026
- May 1: Calvert Woodley’s French Embassy Tasting, VIP 6-7pm, GA 7-9 pm. Tickets!
- May 2 – Taste of Van Ness Main Street – Our 10th Anniversary Celebration! Tickets are on sale now!
- May 3: CW Cinco de Mayo block party 5-7pm, in Calvert Woodley’s parking lot.
- Saturdays – May 2, 16, 23 & 30, at 9:30am – Yoga on Connecticut at 4340 Connn Ave. Donation-based. Please arrive a few minutes early and bring your own mat and props.
- Thursdays – May 7, 14, 21 & 28, at 6:30pm – Yoga on Connecticut, at 4340 Conn Ave. This donation-based yoga practice is suitable for all experience levels. Please arrive a few minutes early and bring your own mat and props.
- May 9 – Spring Pop-Up Market and Carpe Librum used book sale.
- May 15: Calvert Woodley’s Rosé Tasting held at UDC, 6-8pm. Tickets!
June 2026
- June 6 – Good Clean Fun Day at Forest Hills Park – join us for a festive day of family fun, music, and community!
- 10am-12am – Forest Hills Park & Playground Clean Up – volunteers welcome!
- 3-5pm – Community Toy Swap. Bring up to 10 toys, books, and puzzles in very good condition and trade for something new to you!
- 4:15-5:30pm – Music in the Park, starring Mama Elena! Join us for live music and dancing in Forest Hills Park!
- June 13, 9-10am – Yoga in the Park. The @yogaonconnecticut crew will guide your practice in the great outdoors!
July 2026
- June 11, 9-10am – Yoga in the Park. Our friends from @yogaonconnecticut will be with us again for another outdoor yoga class!
- July 18, 11am-4pm – Christmas in July Pop-Up Market at 4340 Connecticut Ave. NW
- July 18, 10am-12pm – Good Clean Fun Initiative’s Forest Hills Park & Playground Clean Up – volunteers welcome!
- July 22, 7pm – Movie Night in the Park with the Good Clean Fun Initiative and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR)
August 2026

September 2026
- September 12 – Art All Night returns to Van Ness, Forest Hills, and Wakefield! There will be live music in Forest Hills Park from 3:30-6:30 so be sure to include the park in your visit!
- September 19 – Line Dancing in Forest Hills Park! Get out your dancing shoes and join us for line dance lessons and fun!
October 2026
- October 24, 10am-12pm – Good Clean Fun Initiative’s Forest Hills Park & Playground Clean Up – volunteers welcome!
- October 25 – SPOOKTACULAR! Our family friendly Halloween celebration is back! Get your favorite costume on and join us in Forest Hills Park & Playground for spooky games and activities! Then trick-or-treat along Connecticut Ave. Fill those goodie bags with treats from our small businesses!

- March 21, 9:30am – Yoga on Connecticut begins! Join us at 4340 Conn Ave. for a donation-based, accessible Vinyasa Flow class. All experience levels welcome. Please arrive a few minutes early and bring your own mat and props. Register here!

- April 18: Ardbeg Airstream Tasting Truck in the Calvert Woodley parking lot from 1-4pm
- April 25, 9am-2pm – UDC’s Farmer’s Market returns and will run every Saturday through the season.

- October 3, 10, 24 – Spooky Movie Nights at the UDC Ampitheater
- October 11 – Celebrate Van Ness Main Street! We’ve got fun planned up and down the corridor! There will be a Pop-Up Market and our friends at Carpe Librum will be back with another amazing collection of used books, vinyl, DVD’s, and CD’s. There will be SEVEN musical performances up and down the Avenue, special dining opportunities, line dancing, face painting, and more!
- October 11 – Pollinator Planting Program’s volunteer day from 2-4pm. We’ll meet in front of Calvert Woodley.
- October 12 – Pollinator Planting Program’s volunteer day from 2-4pm. We’ll meet in front of Franklin Montessori School.

- October 26 – Pollinator Planting Program’s volunteer day from 2-4pm. We’ll meet in front of Forest Hills Senior Living.
