Good Clean Fun initiative

What is the Good Clean Fun Initiative?

The Good Clean Fun Initiative (GCF) is a project of Van Ness Main Street. GCF is a “revamp” of the Friends of Forest Hills Playground, with some changes to meet the current needs of the park and community. You can read more about Good Clean Fun in Forest Hills News Connection

The GCF founding committee has proposed to work with Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to carry out the following activities:

  • Monthly clean-ups throughout the summer months
  • Outreach to involve the broader community’s support (all of you!)
  • Free family-friendly events
  • Update and replace park and playground signage in partnership with DPR
  • Work with DPR to improve the Park, including adding new trash and recycling receptacles

It's Easy to Get Involved!

There are a number of ways you can join us in support of this volunteer-led community initiative:

  • Clean Up a Little Every Day when enjoying the playground, basketball and tennis courts. If we all do a little more cleaning up every time, it will go a long way to keep our park clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone!
  • Contact 3-1-1 if you notice something that needs repair in the park, or other issues like overflowing trash cans. You can submit a request through your phone by taking a picture and uploading it directly to 311.dc.gov. When you submit a 3-1-1 request for a major repair, please also email GCF at foresthillsparkfun@gmail.com

Donate to the Good Clean Fun Initiative

Your donation to GCF will help support fun activities, like Spooktacular and other family friendly events. All donations will go a long way to supporting community-building in our neighborhood!
